Obituary for Hervee L. Sedelow
Hervee L. Sedelow, 87, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Indian Orchard, he was the son of the late Hervee F. and Mary (Wilke) Sedelow. Hervee was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving as a sonar operator on the USS Furse destroyer during the Korean Conflict. He was educated in the Manufacturing and Engineering program at WNEC and began his career at Springfield Armory where he received a patent for creating the folding stock on the M14 paratrooper rifle. Hervee then furthered his career at Smith and Wesson from where he retired in 1995. He also designed the Ludlow Hockey Association logo that is still used today, and in his free time, enjoyed golfing and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Giants, Rangers, and Knicks; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Hervee was the beloved husband of 61 years to Louise (Roy) Sedelow; a devoted father to his 3 sons of whom he was so proud, David Sedelow and wife Lisa, of Ludlow, Daniel Sedelow and fiance Alicia Hadden, of Chicopee, and Gary Sedelow and wife Tricia, of Feeding Hills; a loving grandfather to his 3 adored grandchildren Ian and Alissa Sedelow, and Tyler Augusto; a dear brother to Frances Germain, of Ludlow, and the late Charles Sedelow; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hervee’s memory to The Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject).
