Obituary for Ida (Garcia) Polcetti
Ida (Garcia) Polcetti, 79, of Ludlow passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 16, 2008. Born in Ludlow she was a life long resident, graduating from Ludlow High School in 1947. Ida was a member and supporter of the Gremio Lusitano Club, the Ludlow Golden Agers and enjoyed the time she spent with her friends at the Ludlow Senior Center, taking ceramic courses. Ida worked for over 35 years at the Wall Street Journal, retiring in 2003 leaving behind many friends and colleagues. Ida was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph, who died in 1997. She leaves her son Joseph A. Polcetti Jr. of Ludlow and her daughter, Donna M. Miner of Springfield; cherished grandchildren,  Joseph J. Polcetti, Kristina M. Polcetti, Tara N. Lavertue and Shelby M. Miner; five dear great-grandchildren and her caring sister Isabel Martins of Ludlow. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Morning February 20th, 2008 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 4-7pm and in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ida’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave Suite 2, Norwood, MA.Â
