Obituary for Ida Provost
Ida (Martins) Provost, 83, of Ludlow, was called to Heaven on February 20, 2012. Born in Ludlow, daughter of the late Anibal and Gloria (Ferreira) Martins, she was a lifelong resident, a 1948 graduate of Ludlow High School,  and worked for many years at Westvaco before retiring. Ida enjoyed golfing and was a former member of the Ludlow Country Club. She also enjoyed playing cards on Tuesday nights with her friends, trips to the casino, and going to plays with her niece Gloria; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Ida was the beloved wife of the late Albert Provost, who predeceased her in 2002; the loving mother of Robert Provost and wife Arlene, of Ludlow; cherished grandmother of Melissa, Brett, and Nicole; adoring great-grandmother to Maliyah Sanchez; dear sister to Anicet Martins and late wife Camille, of Ware, Rosalina Mucaria and late husband Vito, of Ludlow, John Martins and wife Lorraine, of Palmetto, Fl, Antonia Cote and husband Norman, of Wilbraham, Dolores Douville and husband Ronald, of Ludlow, and the late Francisco Martins, Mary Bergeron and husband Albert, Theresa Beaudoin and husband Leo, Celeste Roberge and husband Edward, and Adelia Rigney and husband Cornelius; and also leaves several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 11:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home with Monsignor Gosselin officiating. Visiting hours are on Sunday evening from 4-7 pm and preceding the funeral on Monday.
