Obituary for Iride (Pierdiluca) Mariani
Iride (Pierdiluca) Mariani, 92, of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Springfield, passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2008. Born in Italy the daughter of the late Alesandro and Secunda (Alesandroni) Mariani, she came to the United States in 1954 and made her home in the Springfield area. Iride loved cooking, gardening, dancing and her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. Most of all she will be missed dearly by her family. Iride leaves her loving sons Giancarlo Mariani and his wife Irene, Piergeorgio Mariani and his wife Rosemary, Marcello Mariani and his wife Mary, William Mariani and his wife Kimberly and Maurizio Mariani; her loving daughter Marcella Mariani with whom she resided in Ocala; 16 cherished grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; caring sisters Giana Pierdiluca and Edera Vitali; her 4 nieces, 1 nephew and 2 great-nieces in Italy. Iride was predeceased by her beloved husband Armando Mariani who passed away in 1969 as well as 2 brothers Temestocle Pierdiluca and Antonio Pierdiluca, a daughter-in law Anette Mariani and her grandson Dino Mariani. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2008 at 11:15am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with services at The Church of Jesus Christ Later Day Saints, West St. Ludlow at 12:00pm, followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday morning only from 9:15am-11:15am. Iride had a love for animals and it was her wish that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the M.S.P.C.A. in your area.Â
