Obituary for Isabel (Garcia) Martins
Isabel (Garcia) Martins, 90, of Ludlow passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, October 5, 2012. Born in Ludlow to the late Joseph and Mary (Pires) Garcia, she was a lifelong Ludlow resident and a former communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Isabel was a former member of the Gremio Lusitano Club and volunteered for over 25 years at the Ludlow Senior Center where she was a five time recipient of the Presidents Volunteer Service Award from the Presidents Council on Service and Civic Participation. She leaves her loving children; Paul Cataldo and his wife Alice of South Hadley and Sandra Griffin of Charlton; cherished grandmother to Lenore Catlado of San Antonio and Dustin Cataldo and his wife Tami of Montana; caring great-grandmother to Alexandra Katherine Cataldo, Ashlyn Isabel Cataldo, Ryan Paul Cataldo and Nyles Cataldo, she also leaves her sisters-in-law Marian Garcia of Springfield and Connie Garcia of East Longmeadow. Sadly Isabel was predeceased by her brothers and sister; Joseph Garcia, Marie Teixeira, Gloria Pukish, Manual Garcia and Ida Polcetti. A Chapel Service for Isabel will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 10:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00-10:00am and burial will be held privately by her family.
