Obituary for Isaura F. dos Santos
Isaura F. dos Santos, 89, of Indian Orchard, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Valley Falls, R.I., she grew up in Portugal before moving to Indian Orchard in 1969, where she has lived for 39 years and was a communicant of the former St. Matthews Church. Isaura worked for many years at Spaulding before retiring. She enjoyed going to the Pine Point Senior Center, gardening in her flower and vegetable gardens, needlepoint, sewing and especially loved spending time with her family. Isaura was the loving mother of Maria Isabel DeMatos and her husband Antonio, of Indian Orchard, Adriano dos Santos, of Springfield, Conceicao Cerca and her late husband Joaquim, of Ludlow, Isaura dos Santos, of Chicopee, Piedade “Penny” Sebastiao and her husband Tony, of Ludlow, and Antonio dos Santos and his wife Viola, of Ludlow, a dear sister to Alzira Vasco, of Portugal, and the late Antonio DosSantos, a cherished grandmother of 11; great-grandmother of 14; and great-great grandmother of 5. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 8am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 9am followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 6-8pm.
