Obituary for Izaura Duarte
On October 17, 2019, Izaura Duarte, 92, formerly of Ludlow, MA, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family. She was born in Ludlow, MA on June 21, 1927 to the late Antonio Duarte Ribeiro and Ana Maria Da Silva. She worked at Smith & Wesson for many years before retiring in 1992, and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. In life, Izaura loved spending time with her family and doting on her loyal canine friend Daphne. Izaura was predeceased by her husband of almost 53 years, Agostinho Nunes Duarte, in 2000. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Maria Perry and her husband Brian of Webster, MA, her daughter and caregiver Anna Crescentini and her husband Jay of Feeding Hills, MA, with whom she lived; a sister, Alice Ribeiro of Portugal; a brother Alfredo Ribeiro and his wife Isabel of Ludlow; 4 grandchildren, Jason Perry and his wife Jenifer of Concord, MA, Kevin Perry and his wife Shannon of Sierra Madre, CA, Heather LaBroad and her husband Justin of Longmeadow, and Nicholas Crescentini of Feeding Hills; 6 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. Sadly, another sister, Julieta Santos, predeceased her in 2008. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 21, at 10 AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home, 432 East St, Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Winsor St, Ludlow MA. Burial at Island Pond Cemetery in Ludlow. Calling hours are Sunday, Oct. 20, 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Izaura’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of one’s choice.
