Obituary for Jacqueline M. Mongeau
Jacqueline M. (Duquette) Mongeau, 87, of Ludlow, entered into eternal rest on January 7, 2013. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Deus and Lucille (Bourbeau) Duquette, she, along with her beloved husband Charles, who died in 1995, were the owners of the former Mongeau’s Pharmacy in Indian Orchard for 66 years. A graduate of Cathedral High School and the Ma. College of Pharmacy , she was an active pharmacist, until her retirement in 1990. Jacqueline was a well known soprano vocalist, and sang for many years for the St. Aloysius Church of Indian Orchard and the pharmacy college orchestra. She was the eldest of 9 siblings, 3 of which have predeceased her, Pauline Taylor, Helena Wilder and Gloria Greene. Moving to Ludlow in 1983, she became an active communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, (now St. Elizabeth’s Parish), and belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne, and Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by her beloved and devot ed daughter Lucille Marie Mongeau, and her husband John, of Ludlow, a grandson, Kevin Charles Peabody, and his wife Stacey , of Wilbraham her great grandchildren ; Ryan, Ava and Ella Peabody, her surviving siblings; Laurent , Raymond , and John Duquette, Lillian Caron and Marcelle Daley, and her sister-in-law Yolaine Mongeau Newman. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, January 12th , at 9:15 A.M.from the Ludlow Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish. Visiting hours are Saturday morning from 8:15-9:15, and in lieu of flowers , donations may be made in Jacqueline’s memory to the Ludlow Ambulance Grants & Gifts Account (not to be deposited in the general fund) c/o the Ludlow Fire Dept., or the Paul Mongeau and Charles and Jacqueline Mongeau Memorial Scholarship Fund at Ma. College of Pharmacy and Health Services, c/o MCPHS, 179 Longwood Ave., Boston, Ma. 02115

In lieu of flowers , donations may be made in Jacqueline’s memory to the Ludlow Ambulance Grants & Gifts Account (not to be deposited in the general fund) c/o the Ludlow Fire Dept., or the Paul Mongeau and Charles and Jacqueline Mongeau Memorial Scholarship Fund at Ma.
