Obituary for James A. Barnes
James A. Barnes, 64, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, he was a 1963 graduate of Chicopee H.S. and has lived in Ludlow for many years where he was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Parish. James worked for 25 years at Food Mart in CT and he had a talent for artistic lettering and pin striping. He also loved bingo, walking his dog Yoshi, was an avid Red Sox and moto cross sports fan, and especially cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren who adored him. James was the beloved husband of 41 years to Patricia (Ingram) Barnes, a loving father to Jeff Barnes, of Springfield, and Michelle Grilli and her husband Michael, of Southwick; a dear brother to Sandra Moores; the adored grandfather of Myranda, Jake, Morgan , Braeden, and Keagen; son-in-law of Anna Ingram; a brother-in-law to Henry Ingram and wife Deborah, Edward Ingram and wife Darlene, Darleen Athas and husband Kenneth, and Michael Ingram and wife Cheryl; an uncle to Andrew, Phillip, Stephen, Brian, Kevin, Kayla, Nathan, Thomas, and Kelli; and also leaves many dear friends. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 8am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Elizabeth Parish followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Friday evening from 4-7pm.
