Obituary for James H. Gelonese
James H. Gelonese, 80, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield on August 1, 1942 to Francesco and Arlene (Hirsch) Gelonese, he was a graduate of Commerce High School and also attended WNEC. He worked for many years at DDI Transportation retiring as Vice President, and in his free time, he enjoyed exploring the Main Streets and backroads of New England and watching his grandkids play sports.
James was the beloved husband of 52 years to Clarisse (Scagliarini) Gelonese; a loving father to Christopher Gelonese and wife Kathryn, and Blake Gelonese and wife Kimberly; a devoted grandfather to Jack, Griffin, Roman, and Lydia Gelonese; and also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Spencer Hodgins and his staff at Kidney Care of New England for their exceptional care and compassion.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 4th from 4:00-7:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Wednesday April 5th beginning at 10:00am at the funeral home concluding with a service at 11:00am followed by procession to Island Pond Cemetery for Burial.
