Obituary for James J. Manewich
James J. Manewich, 78, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Athol, son of the late Joseph and Mary Eileen (Plunkett) Manewich, he came to Ludlow in 1967 and was a manager for many years at Prudential Life Ins. Co. before retiring. James was a proud volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and, in his spare time, he loved the outdoors and being on the water; especially boating, kayaking, and fishing, He loved to travel and take cruises, but also cherished his time at his home in Ludlow; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. James was the beloved husband of the late Judith Anne (Grover) Manewich who predeceased him in 1997; a devoted father to William Manewich and wife Paula, of ,Newport, RI, Daniel Manewich and wife Audra, of FL, James Manewich and wife Rachelle, of Ludlow, Kris Tierney and husband Rich Belanger, of Ludlow, and Susan Manewich, of Kauai; an adoring grandfather of Bradford Tierney, wife Abby, and their 2 sons Shawn and Mark, William Manewich Jr., of Ludlow, Alysha Tierney, of Boston, Nicholas and Jake Manewich, of Ludlow, and Sidney Kornacki, of Kauai; a dear brother to William Manewich, of Shelburne Falls, and the late Anne Austin and Charles Manewich; and also leaves his longtime friend and companion Irma Randall, his former son in-law David Kornacki, many loving extended family members, and dear friends. Visiting hours are on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10:00am - 12:00pm concluding with a Celebration of Life Liturgy at 12:00pm. In lieu of fresh floral arrangements, plants are requested or donations in James’s memory to The Ronald McDonald House of Western Ma 501 George Street, Suite A, New Haven, CT 06511.
