Obituary for James "Jim" M. Dolan
James "Jim" M. Dolan, 61, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home June 12, 2011.  Born in Springfield to the late Thomas William Dolan Jr. and Ann (Chmael) Dolan, he was a graduate of Classical H.S, and received his undergraduate and Masters Degrees in Engineering from UMASS Amherst.  He worked for years at Electric Boat in Ct and then for over 31 years at Hamilton Standard as an engineer before retiring in April of 2010.  Jim was an avid fisherman, golfer and hockey player. He loved playing video poker , and enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun and Las Vegas, where he had a second home. He was an avid sports fan and the Bruins and Patriots were his favorite teams . His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.  He was extremely generous to his family and friends. Jim was the beloved brother of Bunny Scarfe and husband Joe, of San Angelo, TX, Teresa Kumisca and husband Ed, of Walnut Creek, CA, Maureen Stone and husband Terry, of Enfield, Sharon Dolan (Daly), of Agawam, and Eleanor McGurrin and husband Drew, of Hingham, Ma. and the late Thomas "Champ" William Dolan III and Brian Dennis Dolan; a loving and generous uncle to 12 nieces and nephews and 5 grand nieces and nephews; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends.  Funeral services will be on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Elizabeth Parish followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.  Visiting hours are on Thursday from 5-8pm.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to Vietnam Veterans of America (vva.org) .
