Obituary for James McNamara
James Thomas McNamara, 61, of Ware, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2022. Born in Springfield, son of the late Thomas and Geraldine (Berta) McNamara, Jim was a longtime resident of Ludlow who proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a graduate of Ludlow High School and STCC, and was manager of the Tic-Toc Lounge in Springfield before retiring. Jim was also a talented musician playing the drums in various local blues bands and was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, biking and hiking. James was the beloved brother of Joseph McNamara and wife Jo-Ann, Thomas “Tim” McNamara and wife Yvette, and the late William Johnston, Thomas Johnston, John McNamara, and Shirley Mae Britton; and also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Visitation for Jim will be held on Thursday, April 28th from 5:00-7:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Family and friends may then gather for a graveside service on Friday, April 29th at 10:00am directly in Island Pond Cemetery (Section G). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to any Veterans organization of one's choice.
