James R. Steigmeyer, 75, lifelong resident of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2024 surrounded by the love of his family. Son of the late Ralph and Lillian (Hojnak) Steigmeyer, Jim was a 1966 graduate of Ludlow High School and co-founder of the former Roma Marble. Jim loved the outdoors and his many passions included hiking, fishing and enjoying his time in Ogunquit, Maine. He also had a love for music and was an avid New England sports fan. Jim’s greatest joy was his grandchildren, especially while supporting them in their athletics. Jim was the loving husband of Rosa Cordiano; a devoted father to Cheri Lynn Steigmeyer and David Batts, Jeffrey Steigmeyer and late wife Kimberly, Brian Steigmeyer and wife Aimee Labrecque and stepfather to Ryan Dubay and wife Erin; a proud Papa to his grandchildren Abigayle, Jake, Zachary, Alexandra, Ethan and Kellan, and great-grandchildren Stella and Lennon. He also leaves his siblings Timothy Steigmeyer and wife Connie, Janet Steigmeyer and Michael Hynek, and Pamela Steigmeyer and husband John; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday April 27th from 1:00-4:00pm at Ludlow Funeral Home. Additional services will be held privately by the family and in lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Jim’s memory to Dana Farber Cancer Institute (www.dana-farber.org)
