Obituary for Jane Ann Papianou
Jane Ann (MacDonald) Papianou, 70, of Springfield passed away peacefully on Monday July 10, 2006 surrounded by her loving family.  Jane was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holyoke and was a proud volunteer for the American Red Cross blood drive.  She played golf at Veterans’ Golf Course Wednesdays with the senior women’s’ league, was a walker with the East Longmeadow Morning Glory Walkers and swam with the seniors at the Springfield WMCA.  Jane worked as a waitress for numerous restaurants in the area including Valleys Steak House and Vincent’s.  The best one was a “drive in” called “In Wee Go” and that was special because that’s where she met her husband of 49 years, Francis.  Jane also worked for the Holyoke VNA, Hospice and the deli at Stop & Shop, Franklin Street, Holyoke.  She leaves her loving and devoted family; husband Francis Papianou of Springfield; sons Matthew J. Papianou and his wife Deborah of Westwood, MA., Stewart J. Papianou and his wife Suzanne of Chicopee and Russell J. Papianou of Southwick; a brother John Lewis MacDonald and his wife Eleanor of Holyoke; 4 cherished grandchildren Angela and April of Chicopee and Christina and Michael of Westwood.  Jane was predeceased by a son Glen Charles in 1958.  Funeral services will be held Friday July 14, 2006 at 10:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with a Chapel service beginning at 11:00am with Reverend John Rodkey officiating, burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Visiting hours are Thursday evening from 4-7pm and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church 300 Appleton St. Holyoke, MA. 01040 for the furniture and items needed for the nursery, which will be in Jane’s memory, in the Church that is being built in Granby, MA.
