Obituary for Jeffrey Martin Urban
Jeffrey Martin Urban, 25, of Ludlow, was called safely home on Friday,  May 2, 2008. Born in Springfield, he was a lifelong Ludlow resident and a 2000 Ludlow High School graduate. Jeff was an outstanding hockey player and played for many organizations including: Ludlow Hockey Association, Mass Conn Braves, Connecticut Yankees, New Haven Blackhawks, Milford Blues, New Jersey Rockets, Ludlow High School and the Springfield Junior Pics. While attending college Jeff played for Johnson and Wales and was the Captain for the Worcester State College Hockey Team. Jeff leaves his beloved wife Lisa (Goncalves) Urban and his adoring daughter Alexis Adriana Urban of Ludlow; loving parents Edward and Ann Urban of East Longmeadow and Nira and Larry Flatley of Ludlow; his dear father-in-law and mother-in-law Antonio O. and Adriana Goncalves, of Ludlow; caring brothers Edward Urban, Tony Shukes, Brian Flatley and his sisters Jaime Portier and Melissa Flatley; cherished grandparents William and Joanne Martin of Ludlow, Paul and Marion Roda of Chicopee,  Pearl Tenczar of Holyoke and the late Frank Tenczar; his sisters-in-law Isabel Santos, Veronica Wu and Christine Santos, his brothers-in-law Adriano Santos and Kristopher Portier; nieces Kayla and Maegan Santos and Haylee Portier; as well as several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Jeff will be missed by his best friends John Luszcz, Mike Almeida, Mike Chaconas and many others. Family and friends are asked to meet for a celebration of Jeff’s life on Tuesday May 6th at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday Evening at Ludlow Funeral Home, 432 East St., from 5:00-8:00pm and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeff’s memory to: the benefit for Alexis Adriana Urban, c/o United Bank 528 Center St. Ludlow, MA. 01056; attn: Yvonne Santos.Â
