My beautiful bride of 39 years Jennifer Anne Norwood left this earth to join our loving daughter Abigael Louise Norwood on the road to eternity Monday March 16th, 2026 after suffering a heart attack on the way to Florida for our vacation. Jennifer was born in Watertown, New York on November 28th, 1963 to Linda Paterson and raised by her single mother. She was a graduate of Watertown High School class of 1983, and Jefferson Community College in 1986. As a youth Jennifer was an avid Ice skater with the Watertown figure skating club participating in the USFA testing program which allowed her to travel and skate through out New York and Canada and skate at the Olympic training center in Lake Placid New York. She was also an accomplished dancer with Dealing school of music that performed at the State Office Building. We met upon my return from the Middle East after being stationed with the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum in New York and this is where our love story began. We married on Saturday August 15th, 1987 back in Watertown exchanging our wedding vows in the backyard of the home she grew up in on Michigan Avenue. We settled down in the western Massachusetts area before buying our home in Ludlow, MA in 1993, where we raised our daughters Alexandra and Abigael. She worked a variety of jobs growing up as any other kid did, working at the local Barbara Moss and working for Jefferson County Highway Department during the summer as summer help. Using her skating skills while are girls were young she began teaching figure skating to both of our daughters and for the local skating clubs up until our daughter Abigael got sick in 2003, in which she received a heart transplant in Children’s Hospital in Boston on July 20th, 2003, which in turn she became a stay at home mom for a many years. She went back to work in 2010 for Macy’s in the Holyoke mall as a beauty adviser for the make up line LANCÔME and enjoyed many years there making friends both personal and professional. She loved her animals, for our home was never without a pet. From our first cats Sammy and Sidney, hamsters and of course the beta fish to our big puppy the Goldendoodle Sophie Bella Rose. In 2019 she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes which was always a struggle for us. In January of 2021 she was one of the unlucky ones who contracted Covid which landed her on life support, and a three month battle of recuperation time. Even with all of the obstacles that were thrown her way, she always kept an upbeat mood with a positive vibe. She loved the BEACH and our time visiting Cape Cod and Florida with our family. Family was very important to Jennifer, family dinners and holidays, the house had to be decorated and CLEANED just perfect. HER WAY!!! LOL She loved the Spring and flower gardening, ask any of our neighbors, her and I would be out in the yard for many hours planting and cleaning and just enjoying being outside and working together. She will be missed by many, but mainly me, and she loved being a Mimi to our precious grandson Elliott James who she will never get to see grow up or to watch our daughter Alexandra grow and mature into motherhood. She also leaves her Mother Linda Paterson of Watertown to cherish her memory. She was predeceased by our daughter Abigael, my parents James and Phyllis Norwood, her Aunt Mary and son Christopher Ferlo and her maternal Grandparents William and Virginia Nolan. Plus many more relatives that have gone on before her. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity, Jennifer’s were The Children’s Hospital in Boston or any animal shelter. Calling hours for Jennifer will be on Thursday April 2nd 2026 from 4pm until 7pm at the Ludlow Funeral Home on East Street in Ludlow. A Burial will be held at a later date, which will be private for the family.
