Obituary for Joan (Frederick) Hoffmann
Joan (Frederick) Hoffmann of Ludlow, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday November 13, 2018. Born in Queens, New York to George and Irene (Sommer) Frederick, she has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a member of the Wilbraham United Church where she was very active in the Choir and Bell Choir, peviously Joan was Choir Director for the United Methodist Church in Smithtown, NY. Joan worked as a nurse her entire career and she enjoyed puzzles, scrapbooking, knitting but mostly cherished the time spent with her family. Joan was the beloved wife of the late Guenther Hoffmann who sadly predeceased her in 2017. She leaves her loving children; James (Sara) Hoffmann of Marysville, NY, George (Lani) Hoffmann of Reisterstown, MD. Thomas (Denise) Hoffmann of Kings Park, NY. and Susan Hurlburt (Carl) of Ludlow; cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Shane, Christie, Timothy, Matthew, Joseph and Emilie; dear sister of Barbara Mandel. Visiting hours for Joan will be held on Monday, November 19th 2018 from 3:00-5:00pm from the Ludlow Funeral Home, followed by a Chapel Service beginning at 5:00pm. Burial will take place on Tuesday November 20th, family and friends are asked to gather directly at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam for a 10:00am committal.
