Obituary for Joan P. Wojcik
Joan Pauline (Hosmer) Wojcik, of Springfield, formerly of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024. She was born in Springfield on March 3, 1934 to Herbert “Bert” and Grace (Goodnough) Hosmer. Joan volunteered for many years at GoodWill and also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, knitting & crocheting; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Joan was the beloved wife of the late Donald Walter Wojcik who predeceased her in 1997; a loving mother to Mary Szklarz of Springfield, Julia Grochmal & her late husband Michael of Springfield, Justin Wojcik & his late wife Donna of Springfield, Donald Wojcik & his wife Laurie of Valrico FL, and the late Patricia Wojcik; a devoted grandmother to Christopher Grochmal and his partner Jeff, Marie and Brittany Wojcik; and also leaves many loving extended family members and friends. A graveside service for Joan will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd at 10:00am directly in Oak Grove Cemetery (section K) in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
