Funeral services celebrating Joanne’s life will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00am in Christ the King Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
Joanne “Jennie” (Dziura) Guertin, 92, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Born in Poland to the Late Michael and Stella (Slewierski) Dziura, she has lived in Ludlow for 88 years where she a was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Parish.
Jennie was the beloved wife of the late Henry Guertin who predeceased her in 1998. She leaves her loving daughters Judith Crowley and husband Paul, of Ludlow, and Phyllis Alessi, of Westfield; cherished grandchildren, Joseph Crowley, Paula Crowley, Monica Puetthoff, and Lindsey Alessi; and her son Lance Guertin and wife Beverly, of Feeding Hills. Sadly Jennie was also predeceased by her brother Theodore Dziura and her sister Cecilia Richardson.
It was the wish of Jennie’s family that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to: Alzheimer’s Association @ www.alz.org or Town of Ludlow 911 Memorial, PO Box 382 Ludlow, MA. 01056.
