Obituary for Joao Honorio Costa
Joao Honorio Costa, 84, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Sao Bartolomeu dos Galegos, Portugal, son of the late Luis and Zulmira da Costa, and was a member of the Portuguese Army. Joao immigrated to the US, settling in Ludlow, where he was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. He worked for many years for Northeast Contractors before retiring. He enjoyed the beach and gardening, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Joao was the beloved husband of 60 years to Maria Eugenia Costa; a loving father to Joaquim "Jack" Costa and wife Maria, and George Costa, all of Ludlow; a devoted grandfather to Emily, Anthony, and Michael Costa; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Visiting hours for Joao are on Saturday, November 23rd from 8:30-10:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
