Obituary for Joao dos Santos
Joao F. dos Santos, 79, of Indian Orchard, died on Thursday, September 6, 2012 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Montalegre, Portugal and was a proud member of the Portuguese Army before moving to Indian Orchard 46 years ago. He worked for over 25 years at Jahn Foundry before retiring, was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and an avid fan of F.C. Porto. Joao was the beloved husband of 47 years to Maria (Alves) dos Santos; a loving father to Elizabeth Grasso and husband Anthony, of Indian Orchard; and Daniel dos Santos, of Boston; cherished grandfather to Anthony Grasso; a dear brother to Joaquim and Abilio dos Santos, and Cecilia Mourinho, all of Portugal, and the late Fernanda Carvalho, Maria Xavier, and Acacio dos Santos; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Joao will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4:00pm-7:00pm; and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joao's memory to: National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD. 21741-5018.
