Obituary for Joaquim Dias
Joaquim Dias, 86, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Wednesday June 27, 2018. Born in Penedones, Portugal to the late Laurinda Dias, he has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima church and a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. Joaquim enjoyed gardening, playing cards and watching soccer. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Joaquina in 2014. He leaves his loving family; his daughters Maria Gomes and her husband Hector of Ludlow, Maria Julia Dias of Ludlow and his son Carlos Dias and his wife Maria also of Ludlow; adored grandchildren Jeffrey Dias, Marco Gomes and his wife Leigh-ann, Jacqueline Dias all of Ludlow; cherished great granddaughter Gabriella Gomes; a brother Jose in Portugal, his sisters Maria of Brazil and Emilia of Portugal and his late sister Ana. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 30, from the Ludlow Funeral home. Visiting hours are from 8:15-9:45AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
