Joaquim Salvador, 92, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025. Born in Oura, Portugal, he was the son of the late Maximino and Palmira Salvador. Joaquim immigrated to Ludlow, where he humbly worked for many years and later retired from Dana Everflex Corporation. He was also a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Ludlow. Joaquim displayed a quiet nature and enjoyed the simplicity of time with family and tending to his garden for many years.
Joaquim was the devoted husband of 57 years to Maria Augusta Salvador, who recently passed away on November 9th and is now reunited with. Father to Dianne St. Peter and her partner Kevin Almeida, Joe Salvador and wife Liz. Cherished grandfather to Matthew, Adam (Tori), Amanda Hilario, Aaron St. Peter, Lukas and Cameron Salvador. Adoring great grandfather to Matthew Hilario, Jr., Lily and Sunny Hilario. He is also reunited with his beloved great-granddaughter, Olivia Hilario, who passed earlier this year.
Joaquim was a beloved “Tio” to his nieces and nephews in the extended Salvador and Varandas families. He was predeceased by his siblings Armando, Cacilda, Jose, Fernando, Francisco, Horacio, Delmino and Miquelina.
Funeral services for Joaquim will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026. Visiting hours are 8:30AM-10:15AM at Ludlow Funeral Home. Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
