Obituary for Joaquim "Jackie" Queiros Jr.
Joaquim "Jackie" Queiros Jr., 80, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow, son of the late Joaquim and Barbara (Pereira) Queiros, he moved to Natick in 1954 and worked his entire career for over 46 years at MDC (DCR) before retiring at age 72. He was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving his country aboard the USS Fred T. Berry. Jackie was the loving father to Robert Queiros and his wife Victoria, of Holden, and Amy Diaz and her husband Louis, of Newport Richie, FL; stepfather to Fernando (Fred) Martins, Joseph (Joe) Martins; a cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren; the dear brother of Rose Fernandes, Porfirio and James Queiros, all of Ludlow, Mary Hogan, of Springfield, Armand Queiros and Celeste Provost, both of Ludlow, Mabel "Bunny" DelBuono,of West Springfield, and the late Antonio Queiros ; and also leaves his former wife Mary (Mailhoit) Queiros, of FL, as well as several loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Ludlow Funeral Home 432 East St. Ludlow, Ma. 01056. Chapel services will be at 11:30am at the funeral home followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will precede the chapel service from 10:30-11:30am. Â
