Obituary for Joaquim Martins
Joaquim Martins, 93, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow, he was a lifelong resident and faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Joaquim worked for many years at Moore Drop Forge from where he retired, and also loved gardening and caring for his animals, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Joaquim was the beloved husband of Maria Clara (Pires) Martins; a loving father to Porfirio Martins, of Ludlow, and Luiza Martins-Olah and husband Mark, of Franklin, Ma; dear brother the late Lidia Bastos and husband Joaquim, Domingos Martins and wife Rosaria, Alzira Martins, and Antonio Martins and wife Candida; grandfather to Christopher, Michaela, Andrew, and Grace Olah; and also leaves his brothers and sisters-in-law in the Pires family, several nieces, nephews, extended family members; and dear friends. Walk through No Contact Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 14th from 9:15- 10:15am in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
