Obituary for Joaquin "Jack" Bernardo
Joaquin “Jack” Bernardo Sr., 85, of Ludlow, was called back to God’s care on Thursday, June 14, 2007. A lifelong resident of Ludlow, he retired from the Savage Arms and Sanford Tools Companies, and was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. Jack was also a member of the Ludlow Elk’s Lodge and on June 9th celebrated his 62nd anniversary with his beloved wife, Henrietta “Chickie” Bernardo. Besides his wife, he leaves a son Jack Jr. and his wife Elaine of Lake Tahoe, Ca. a daughter Linda Bell and her husband Stephen of Ludlow, his siblings; Tony and Jimmy of Ludlow, Manny of Chicopee, Edwina Grimaldi of Wilbraham, Gina Cuthbert of Ludlow and Marion Rodrigues of Lake Wales FL., 4 grandchildren; Jacqueline, Julie, Neal and Sean, and 3 great grandchildren; MacKenzie, Tyler and Madison. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church at 10am followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday evening from 5-8 PM with an Elk’s ritual to be held on Sunday evening.
