Obituary for Joaquin "Jack" Bernardo
Joaquin “Jack” Bernardo Sr., 85, of Ludlow, was called back to God’s care on Thursday, June 14, 2007. A lifelong resident of Ludlow, he retired from the Savage Arms and Sanford Tools Companies, and was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. Jack was also a member of the Ludlow Elk’s Lodge and on June 9th celebrated his 62nd anniversary with his beloved wife, Henrietta “Chickie” Bernardo. Besides his wife, he leaves a  son Jack Jr. and his wife Elaine of Lake Tahoe, Ca. a daughter Linda Bell and her husband Stephen of Ludlow, his siblings; Tony and Jimmy of Ludlow, Manny of Chicopee, Edwina Grimaldi of Wilbraham, Gina Cuthbert of Ludlow and Marion Rodrigues of Lake Wales FL., 4 grandchildren; Jacqueline, Julie, Neal and Sean, and 3 great grandchildren; MacKenzie, Tyler and Madison. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church at 10am followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday evening from 5-8 PM with an Elk’s ritual to be held on Sunday evening. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ludlow Lodge of Elk’s Scholarship Fund, 69 Chapin St. Ludlow, MA. 01056.
