Obituary for Joaquin 'Jack' Machado
Joaquin “Jack” Machado, 81, of Ludlow, died peacefully on February 26, 2014 with his family beside him. Born in Ludlow, son of the late Joao and Edith (DosSantos) Machado, he was a lifelong resident. He worked for many years as a supervisor for Peter Machado serving the town of Ludlow and later retired from the Springfield Water Dept. Jack was the beloved husband of the late Grace (LaBier) Machado, who predeceased him in 2001; a loving brother to Charles and Mario Machado, of Ludlow, Diolinda Fernandes, of Springfield, and the late Peter Machado, Zelda Nadeau, Mabel Condon, and Mary Nowak; a cherished uncle to several nieces and nephews; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Jack are on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 9:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4-7pm and preceding the funeral from 8:15-9:00am.
