Obituary for John Daniel Clarke
John D. Clarke, 92, of Ludlow, passed away on December 9, 2017. Born in Indian Orchard, son of the late Jack and Virginia (Boilard) Clarke, he was a graduate of Cathedral High School and attended Pratt Institute. John Was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving his country during WWII and worked for many years at Leo Burnett Advertising where he produced many television commercials. He was also a member of Christ the King Church and American Legion Post 3236, both in Ludlow, and in his spare time, he enjoyed painting, writing, and photography. John was the beloved companion of nearly 40 years to Mary Cleary, of Ludlow; a dear brother to Mildred White, Virginia Simpson, and the late Rita Pease and Gloria Clarke; a best friend of 80 years to David Garrow; an adoring uncle to Ann Marie Opalenik and husband Rob, Cynthia White, Charles White and wife Neide, Richard Pease, Jr., and Annemarie Orr; great-uncle of Marcus Opalenik and wife Dora, Steven Opalenik and wife Jessica, Caitlin Longone and husband Nick, Jennifer Maddox and husband Matthew, Jacob White, and Quentin Orr; and also leaves his cherished cats Jim and Darlene; many loving extended family members, and dear friends. Funeral services will be on Friday, December 15th at 10:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church at 11:00am followed by entombment in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
