Obituary for John Fernandes
John George Fernandes, 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18th with his loving family by his side. Born in Ludlow on March 13th, 1951, son of the late Amadeu and Mary (McCollum) Fernandes. He leaves his devoted wife of 33 years, Nancy Dubois Fernandes; his sons, Andrew of Ludlow, Christopher of Three Rivers, his daughter, Mary of Three Rivers and two grand-daughters, Kylie and Kenzie Plasse; his sisters, Betty (and Dick) LeBoeuf, Sylvia (and Carl) DiLuzio, and Sandy Croteau; his in-laws, Ret. Fire Chief Homer and Mae Dubois, sister-in-law, Suzanne Parker and brother-in-law, Rene Dubois; his many loving nieces and nephews, and his dog, Shadow. John worked for many years at Advance Manufacturing Co. in Westfield. He was an avid Harley rider and enjoyed rebuilding cars and motorcycles. He had many friends, among them, his life-long friend Manny Moreno. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00am in St. Elizabeth Parish followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday evening from 4:00-7:00pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to: American Diabetes Association PO Box 11454 Alexandria, VA. 22312.
