John J. Boudreau, 72 of Ludlow passed away peacefully at home on September 18. John was born in Worcester and grew up in Rutland, MA. He was a graduate of Lowell Technological Institute (now UMASS Lowell) with his Master’s in Electrical Engineering. John held several positions during his career and retired from Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) in Ludlow where he worked as the Director of Business and Regulatory Strategy for 25 years retiring in 2008. After his retirement from MMWEC, John, being a life-long learner and having a passion for teaching, earned a second Master’s degree in Mathematics in Education. He became a math teacher at Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield, CT for several years before fully retiring in 2018. He leaves his partner of 29 years Susan Nowakowski of Ludlow. He was the loving father to William J. Boudreau and his wife Jennifer of Rindge, NH and David R. Boudreau and his wife Tara of Wilbraham. John was stepfather to Catherine (Nowakowski) Quesnel and partner Richard Wood of Ludlow and James Nowakowski, Jr. and partner Shari Lokey of Wilbraham. He was a devoted grandfather to Ariana Quesnel, Reagan and Ryan Boudreau, Madelyn and Aubrey Boudreau. John leaves his sister Paula Klingerman and brother James Boudreau and wife Janet. He was predeceased by his sister Margaret Roberto. He also leaves lifelong friends since elementary school Barbara and Allan Brandes, and Karen and Gary MacDonald. John enjoyed baking and made the most elaborate birthday cakes for his grandchildren. He was well known for attending all of their sporting events and was always on the sidelines cheering for his grandchildren and the team. His other hobbies and interests included fishing, oil painting, and gardening. John also supported animal rescue groups through donations, fostering and providing transportation. His generosity and kindness touched the lives of countless people. John was a lifelong supporter of St. Judes Children’s Hospital. Graveside Services for John will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11:00am in Island Pond Cemetery in Ludlow.
