Obituary for John J. Wancko
John Wancko, 62, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010. Born in Poland to Julia (Zoryto) Wancko and the late Dymitro Wancko, he spent most of his life in Watervliet, NY, before moving to Springfield in 1981. John was a faithful communicant of St. Peter and Paul Ukranian Catholic Church in Ludlow and worked for many years at Hampden Brass Aluminum Co, and US Tsubaki as a supervisor. He enjoyed fishing and gardening but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandson. Besides his mother, John leaves his beloved wife of 33 years Krystyna (Dyczko) Wancko of Springfield; loving son Christopher Wancko and his wife Maggie of Springfield and a daughter Patricia Wancko of NY; cherished grandson Noah as well as several caring nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 29th, 2010 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Peter and Paul Ukranian Catholic Church at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday evening from 5:00pm-8:00pm with Panakhyda services beginning at 7:30pm.
