Obituary for John Rauschenbach
John W. Rauschenbach, 89, of Broadbrook passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Monday April 18th, 2011. Born n East Brookfield, MA. to the late Bruno and Minnie (Hess) Rauschenbach he was a long time resident of Broadbrook and a faithful communicant of St. Catherine Parish. John served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II and worked for Riggott Construction for many years before his retirement. He was the 1st Eagle Scout in East Windsor, enjoyed traveling, UCONN Women’s Basketball, working in stain glass and “Junque”, but his family was his life. John leaves his beloved wife Mary (Allen Shippee) Rauschenbach; loving children, John (Lieu), Leslie (Rich) and Michael; stepson William (Deb) and stepdaughters Diane, Joanne (Greg), Merri-Anne, Tina (Allan) and Robin; 4 Grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Sadly he was predeceased by his first wife Shirley and a son Timothy. Funeral services for John will be held on Monday April 25th, 2011. Visiting hours are from 10:15-11:00am at St. Catherine Church in Broadbrook followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Catherines Cemetery. Ludlow Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been entrusted with the arrangements.
