He started working with his father as a teenager at the Mobil Gas Station in Fairview (Chicopee) MA. He worked in the automotive industry for most of his life which led to his love for cars. He could fix any car with ease and would come home with oil stains on his clothes. He always talked about the 1958 Corvette he had in his youth. He graduated from Ludlow High School in 1956. A natural athlete, he was the captain of his high school football team in his senior year. He joined the Army National Guard for 10 years.

Tom was the owner of John’s Arco Service Station on Center St. Ludlow for many years. Tom continued working as a mechanic but his last job before retiring was with Ludlow Town Hall where he was known to be the handyman and would help visitors find where they needed to go. He would visit the offices while he worked and would tell stories. After retiring he spent time with Joan traveling around the USA.

Tom was an accomplished carpenter. His pride and joy was the house he resided in that he built in 1970.

He was proud of his family and happy to share their accomplishments with friends and acquaintances. He was especially proud of his Hungarian roots, with a side of Irish and Scottish. Tom was a big fan of Notre Dame football and the UCONN women’s basketball. Tom was an avid history buff with a special interest in the military. While he traveled quite a bit throughout the US following his retirement, his favorite place to be was on his Cub Cadet mower, meandering about his "north forty". He was a dedicated parishioner at Faith United Methodist Church in Chicopee and a member of their Senior Men’s Group.
