Obituary for Jorge Silva
Jorge Teixeira Silva, 78, of Ludlow passed away on March 3, 2012. Born in Cabanes, Vila Pouca de Aguiar in Portugal on September 10, 1933, he was the son of the late Domingos and Olimpia Da Silva. He emigrated to the United States in 1973 where he worked at the Ludlow Mills, Ala-Vel and finally at Bernardino's Bakery as a baker until his retirement in 2002. Jorge enjoyed spending time with his family, tending to his garden and appreciated a good joke. Jorge was the beloved husband of Helena Costa Silva. Devoted father of Adoindo Silva and his wife Elia; Manuel Agostinho Silva and his wife Maria Nazare; Leonardo Silva and his wife Isabel and Mike Silva and his wife Amanda. Loving grandfather of Paulo, Patricia, Suzanne, Leonardo Jr., Diane, Alex, Steven, Mary, Miguel, Mike Jr., and Arianna and great grandfather of Claire. Funeral services for Jorge will be held on Wednesday March 7, 2012 at 10:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church with burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 4:00-7:00pm.
