Obituary for José Leonardo Pedro
José Leonardo Pedro, 79, Zé to his loved ones and Zé Grande to his friends, passed away on July 9, 2023. Born in Alcobaҫa, Portugal, he was the first child of four born to late Joaó and Fernanda Pedro. Zé immigrated to Indian Orchard, MA in 1973, where he set the foundation to raise his family. Zé was a beloved husband of 58 years to Mutilene (Machado) Pedro, and loved by his two children, Luis Pedro, and Diane Harvey along with her husband, Jayson. He also leaves his loving grandchildren; Austin, Avery, Aidan, and Kiersten. Zé was known for his strength, his work ethic, his farm fresh eggs, and his ability to grow the longest green beans and biggest tomatoes in the neighborhood. His love for Benfica was equal to the love he had spending time with family and friends sipping homemade wine and indulging in prosciutto. He was also known for his occasional stubbornness and the rare smile that gleamed his ginormous heart. He was a very proud man that will be missed and is cherished for the many wonderful joys that he brought to the lives of his family and friends. Visiting hours for José Leonardo Pedro will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 8:30-10:00am at Ludlow Funeral Home. Church services will follow at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Burial and gathering will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in José Leonardo Pedro’s name to the American Stroke Foundation.
