Obituary for Jose C. Nascimento
Jose C. Nascimento, 61, of Ludlow, was called to Heaven on October 1, 2008. Born in Portugal, son of the late Orlando and Ana (Carvalho) do Nascimento, he was a Corporal in the Portuguese Army and came to Indian Orchard in 1970 before moving to Ludlow. Jose became an American Citizen in 1978 and worked for many years at Ala-vel, American Bosch and most recently at Titeflex before leaving due to a disability. He was also a member of the Gremio Lusitano Club, played for Velha Guarda Soccer and was an avid Benfica fan, also belonging to their club. Jose was the beloved father of Alice Sousa Nascimento and her fiancée Joseph Cormier, of Agawam, Jennifer Mateus and her husband Sergio, of Ludlow, Cristina Sousa Nascimento, also of Ludlow, and the late Nancy Sousa Nascimento; a cherished grandfather to Julia and Ryan Mateus; the dear brother of Joaquina Rocha and Tony Nascimento, both of Indian Orchard, Francisco Rocha, and Hector and Jaime Nascimento, all of Ludlow; uncle to several nieces and nephews and also leaves many other loving family members and dear friends. Funeral services are on Saturday morning at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Friday from 4-7pm.
