Obituary for Jose "Cheyenne" DaSilva
Jose “Cheyenne” DaSilva, 66, of Daytona Beach FL, passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2011. Born in Monteiros, Portugal, son of Manuel J DaSilva of Chicopee and of the late Ana Maria (Machado) DaSilva, he came to the United States in 1964. Jose moved to Daytona Beach in 1995, where he worked construction before retiring in 2008. Prior to moving to Florida, Jose worked at Uniroyal and Sweet Life Corporations. He had a passion for horse racing and for many years Jose was an owner and trainer. He leaves his loving children, Steven J DaSilva & his fiancée Kara Jorge of Ludlow; Anna Weiss and her husband Robert Weiss of Sudbury, MA; cherished grandchildren Ryan DaSilva, Thalia Cheyenne Lynch and Sylvester Weiss; a dear brother to Maria Gloria Kamuda of Port Orange, FL, Maria Teresa Rodriques of Chicopee, Ilidio “Lee” DaSilva of Ludlow, Luis DaSilva of Stratford, CT, Antonio DaSilva of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Manuel J. DaSilva of Chicopee and Lisa Piechota of Three Rivers; and 21 cherished nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday August 23rd, 2011 at 9am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Christ the King Church at 10. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday evening from 5-7 PM.
