Obituary for Jose F. Esteves
Jose F. Esteves, 77, of Wilbraham, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Padroso, Montalegre, Portugal, he was the son of the late Sebastiao and Maria (DaBraza) Esteves and was a member of the Portuguese Army. He moved to Wilbraham in 1966 and was a Local 596 laborer for many years before retiring. He was also a longtime member of the Gremio Lusitano Club where he loved to play cards, a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, an avid gardener, and a jokester; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jose was the beloved husband of 45 years to Ana (DaSilva Juliano) Esteves; a loving father to Manuel Esteves, of Wilbraham and Grace Esteves, of Springfield; an adoring grandfather to Andrew and Emily Esteves; dear brother to Father Sebastiao Esteves, of Vila Pouco, Portugal, and Ana Neves Esteves, of Padroso, Portugal, and the late Antonio, Joaquim, and Senhorina Esteves; and also leaves several loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4-7pm.
