Obituary for Jose G. Andre
Jose G. Andre, 92, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Padornelos, Portugal to the late Joao and Ana Andre, he was a proud member of the Portuguese Army before immigrating to Ludlow in 1966 where he was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Jose worked for many years at Crane Company before retiring and was also a member of the Jose Society and formerly of the Gremio Lusitano Club. Jose was the beloved husband of the late Virginia (Larouco) Andre, who predeceased him in 2010; a loving father to Jose “Joe” Andre and wife Idalina, Maria Fatima Morais and husband Domingos, all of Ludlow, and the late Arminda Andre who predeceased him in September; cherished grandfather to Lisa Andre, Cristina Andre, Daniel Morais, and Michael Morais and wife Filipa; a dear brother to Antonio Andre and wife Isaura, and the late Domingos Gil; and also leaves several loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends throughout the community. Saturday, December 30th at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Friday evening from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
