Obituary for Jose Palatino
Jose Palatino, 88, of Indian Orchard, died peacefully at home on December 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Carvalhal, Turquel, Portugal in 1928 to the late Antonio and Laurinda (Nogueira) Palatino and was a proud member of the Portuguese Army. He immigrated to the United States settling in Indian Orchard where he worked for many years at Daylight Dairy and MIlton Bradley, and was also a self made entrepreneur. Jose was the beloved husband of Maria da Conceicao (Domingos) Palatino, who predeceased him in 2014; a loving father to Maria Jesus Arsenio and husband Jose Luis, Manuel Palatino and wife Carolina, Antonio Palatino and wife Aurea, Isabel Rebelo and husband Vasco, Martinho Palatino and fiancee Roxanne Leu, Gilberto Palatino, Adelino Palatino and wife Maria Fatima, Zelia Palatino and fiance Paul Wiaderek, and Ivone Smith and husband Scott; a devoted grandfather of 10; cherished great-grandfather of 8; dear brother to Joaquim Palatino, Maria Nogueira, and the late Manuel and Germano Palatino; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Jose are on Wednesday, January 4th at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00pm and for those who wish, donations may be made in Jose’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
