Obituary for Jose Pedro Matias
Jose Pedro Matias Born June 29th 1946 and died August 3rd 2024 after a long illness. He was 78 years old. Born in Portugal to the late Jose Luis Matias and Jesuina N. Matias. He was a military policeman in the Portuguese Army. Jose migrated to the USA in 1970 and worked at various places; Moore Drop Forge, Jarvis East, and Carando/Farmland Foods. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Idalina Matias and four kids; John (and his wife Catherine), Luis, Sylvia (and her husband Jose), and David (and his wife Jessica), three grandchildren; David, Anna, and Zadora. He leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jose loved hunting, eating, gardening, drinking, making wine, and walking. Above everything, he loved his hunting buddies. He leaves behind his brother Antonio and sister Maria Fatal. Jose is predeceased by his brothers Luis, and Silvino. He was a member of Gremio Lusitano Club, and Organization of Jose’s. Funeral services for Jose will be held on Thursday August 8th. Visitation is Thursday morning from 8:45-10:15am with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please plant something that you can eat.
