Obituary for Jose Videira Ferreira
Jose Videira Ferreira, 79, of Ludlow was called home to God on Tuesday September 3, 2013. Born in Aguas Boas, Satao, Portugal to the late Elisio and Paixao (Videira) Ferreira, he was long time Ludlow resident, a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and worked at Milton Bradley/Hasbro before his retirement. Jose was proud of his Portuguese heritage, he was an avid fan and member of S.L. Benfica, a member of the Portuguese American Citizens Club, a member of the Os’ Joses Society and a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club where he was the former director of the Honor Guard for many years. Sadly Jose was predeceased by his loving daughter Anabela (Ferreira) Videira in 2007. He leaves his beloved wife Maria (Branca) Ferreira of Ludlow; caring son-in-law Antonio Videira of Ludlow; cherished brothers Luis Videira Ferreira and wife Ana, Armandino Ferreira Videira and wife Maria Celia, Arlindo Videira Ferreira and wife Maria Amelia and Saul Videira Ferreira and his wife Teresa all of Portugal; his brothers-in-law Eduardo DosSantos Branco and wife Carmen, Carlos Alberto Branco and wife Isabel all of Ludlow and the late Jose Martinho Branco; and a very close friend of the family Rita Choe; along with several nieces, nephews , family and friends throughout the community. Funeral services for Jose will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 10:00am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday evening from 4:00-7:00pm.
