Obituary for Joseph A. Cordeiro
Joseph A. Cordeiro, 60 of Palm Coast, Florida was called by God on September 20, 2010. Born in Benedita, Portugal on November 22, 1949, the son of the late Francisco & Amelia Cordeiro. He had lived in Ludlow, MA most of his life. He served in the National Guard for 6 years. He lived the past 9 years in Palm Coast, Fl. He was a member of the Portuguese American Cultural Center in Palm Coast, Fl, a member of the Gremio Lusitano Club in Ludlow, MA. Joe was the owner of, J & J Catering and the Lunch Box for over 15 years. In his spare time, Joe loved to dance, cook, and spend time at the beach searching for shells. One of his greatest pastimes was making people laugh with his joke telling. Another great love of his was spending time with his family. He was the beloved husband of Maria Manuela (Evangelista) Cordeiro for 41 years; a loving father and father-in-law to Manuela (Nellie) Beleza & husband Joe, and John Cordeiro and wife Diane; he cherished his grandchildren, Ryan and Olivia, all of Ludlow, MA. A dear brother to Noel & Jack of Tampa, Fl; Fernanda Roxo, Joyce Pereira, Nina Rosa all of Ludlow, MA; and Henry of CT. He also leaves many nieces and nephews; and all of people who knew him. He will always be remembered as “Little Joe” the man with “a heart of gold” and full of life. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 1st, 2010 at 9:30am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Elizabeth Church at 10:30am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening from 5:00-8:00pm. It is the wish of Joe’s family that in lieu of flowers donations be made in his memory to the charity of ones choice.
