Obituary for Joseph Karam
Joseph Anthony Karam, 87, of Chicopee passed away on Tuesday March 1, 2022. Born in Springfield to the late Anthony and Mary Karam, he graduated from Cathedral High School in 1952 and worked for many years as a patrolman for the Springfield Police Department as well as the owner of ACME Radiator and A-1 Derek Drugstore. Joe served his country honorably as a Military Policeman in the United States Army during Vietnam. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and wife of 48 years Madeleine. Joe enjoyed traveling to the Islands and spending time meeting old friends, particularly proud of being a Springfield Police Officer and loved recounting his stories while on the force. Joe was also an avid pilot receiving his pilot's license in 1969. Besides his wife, Joe leaves his loving children; Elizabeth Lopata and husband Dennis, Joseph Karam Jr. and his wife Melissa and John McCoullough and his wife Mary; his many adored grandchildren and great grandchild. Funeral services for Joseph are being held privately by his family with Ludlow Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
