Obituary for Joseph LaBroad
Joseph LaBroad, 74, of Palmer, passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2021. Born in Springfield, he was one of 11 children of the late Warren and Mary (McDevitt) LaBroad. Joseph was a proud United States Navy Veteran and worked for over 25 years at Demos and Son, as well as American Refinishing. He loved his career as a furniture refinisher, also teaching his trade to students at night school; and in his free time he had a passion for cooking, especially for his family and friends.
Joseph was the beloved husband of 52 years to Joanne (Belanger) LaBroad; a loving father to Jody Labroad and wife Melinda, Holly Dube and husband Phil, and David LaBroad and wife Vanessa; a cherished grandfather to Katelyn, Jessica, Jade, Alyssa, Jordan, Jaidyn and his beloved 9 great-grandchildren; and also leaves his devoted canine companion Sam, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends including his sister-in-law Lori Suzor, and brothers-in-law Michael Belanger, Jerry Belanger, and Eddie LaBroad and families.
Joseph’s family wishes to acknowledge and send their gratitude to the first responders, service workers, and individuals who assisted Joseph and the family during their loss.
Funeral services for Joseph will be held on Thursday, December 9th. Visiting hours will be held from 11:00am-12:45pm in Ludlow Funeral Home concluding with a Celebration of Life Service. Procession will follow to Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1390 Main St. Agawam, Ma 01001 for a 2:00pm committal service with Military Honors. The family has requested that anyone who is attending the services, to please wear a mask and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to be used in accordance with their wishes.
