Obituary for Joseph Zolty
Joseph Zolty, 89, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Christmas morning.  Born in Ludlow, the son of Phillip and Anastasio (Boyko) Zolty,  he served his country honorably during WWII as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army in the 16th Armored Field Artillery Battalion.  Joe fought in the Battle of the Bulge and obtained the Good Conduct Medal, Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Distinguished Unit Badge and Victory Medal.  He also was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed fishing, traveling with his beloved wife Rose and spending time with his beagles.  Joe leaves his loving wife Rose Scott-Zolty of Ludlow; cherished sisters-in law Stephanie Zolty of Ludlow and Ann Zolty of CT; several loving nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews; and his best friend Ritchie Lockwood of Springfield.  He was predeceased by his first wife Yolanda Morace-Zolty and his brothers: Michael Zolty, who was his identical twin, William Zolty, Metro Klimowicz, Edward Zolty and Walter Zolty and sisters Rose Hnatow, Ann Wyant and Helen Fernandes.  Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Friday morning at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church followed by burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 4-7pm with Panakhyda services at 6:30pm.  Donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 153 Magazine St. Springfield, MA. 01119.
