At Josie’s request, there are no calling hours and burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
Josephine “Josie” (Ziencina) Swartz passed away peacefully on October 24, 2014. Born in Ludlow on May 17, 1921, she was the daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Podolski) Ziencina. Josie graduated from Ludlow High School in 1939 and worked as a deli clerk for over 30 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Edward in 1994; and her brothers Freddie, Stan, Mitch, and Ed; and sisters Jennie and Clara. She is survived by her daughters Carol Fuller and husband Stu, of Hampden, and Barbara Allore, of Wilbraham, and her son Paul and wife Alicen, of Walpole. She also leaves four grandchildren: Todd Fuller, Darcey Walulak, Jeffrey Allore, and Ryan Allore; and five great-grandchildren: Cameron, Kylie, and KK Walulak, and Brianna and Zachary Allore. Josie wished to convey her love and good wishes to her many friends and a special thanks to Wing Memorial Hospital, Wingate of Wilbraham, and especially to Dr. Linda Schoonover.
