Obituary for Joshua Benware
Joshua Benware, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Monday June 27, 2022. Born in Holyoke he was the son of Bruce Benware and Sharon (Sumowski) Duchesne. Joshua was an accomplished bodybuilder and the 2000 NPC Massachusetts Light Heavyweight Champion and the 2001 NPC Jr. USA Light Heavyweight Champion, he was an avid fan and collector of Star Wars memorabilia and lifelong Yankees, Bengals and Boston Bruins fan. He leaves his parents Sharon Duchesne and her husband Jay of Ludlow and Bruce Benware and his wife Edna of Peoria, AZ; his loving son Nathan Seidell of Peoria, AZ; his caring brothers and sister, Stephen McCauley and wife Amy of Myrtle Beach, Jamie Duchesne of Ludlow and Melissa Tassinari and her husband David of Ludlow; cherished nieces and nephews Katherine, David, Alexander and Matthew Tassinari as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved friends. Sadly, he was predeceased by his grandparents Wesley and Lorraine Benware and John and Mary Sumowski. Funeral services for Joshua will be held on Thursday July 7, 2022 from the Ludlow Funeral Home, 432 East Street, Ludlow, Ma. Visiting hours are Thursday evening from 4:00pm-6:00pm concluding with a Celebration of Life service starting at 6:00pm with Fr. Bill Tourigny officiating. Joshua’s burial will be held privately by his family. In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name to the American Heart Association.
