Juana R. (Diaz Gomez) Roberts, of Simsbury, CT, age 97, formerly of Springfield, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Santiago Rodriguez, Dominican Republic on July 25, 1928 to Ulysses Diaz and Juana Evangelista Diaz de Gomez. Juana worked for many years at American Optical in Southbridge, MA and in her free time, she enjoyed hosting family dinners, baking pies and cakes, barbecuing, and gardening. She especially cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Juana was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Leo Roberts who predeceased her in 2013; a loving mother to Susan Meunier and her husband Marc of Granby, CT, Carolyn Roberts Snodgrass of Sacramento CA, and Ann Hennessy of Granby CT; a devoted grandmother to Jessica Meunier and husband Jonathan P. Watkins of Woburn, MA, Daniel Meunier and wife Manuela Perez-Luna of North Andover, MA, Michael Snodgrass and wife Deanna Snodgrass of Seattle, WA, Aidan Hennessy of Groton, CT, Rachel Hennessy of Boston, MA, Conor Hennessy of Groton, CT and great-grandmother to Jonathan P. Watkins, Jr. of Woburn, MA and Ronan Snodgrass of Seattle, WA. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Funeral services for Juana will be held on April 24, 2026. Visitation is from 9:00am to 10:15am at Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Elizabeth Parish, Ludlow, MA followed by procession to Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA for 1:00pm committal services.
